Questions

Can I play with friends?
Yes. Open a room from any game or the menu, share the code, and everyone plays the same rounds together.
Is it free?
Yes. Today’s rounds are always free, no paywall. You can play every past day as well with roughly+.
When are there new rounds?
Every day at midnight UTC, five per game. Until then, everyone plays the same five. Missed one? See all 2,000+ past days.
Can I stream it?
Yes. Open a room, put the code in your chat, and everyone guesses along. The board view is made for the stream: code, players, and the top guesses of each round.
Where do the numbers come from?
Wikipedia, the UN, the WHO, NASA, the World Bank, Open Food Facts and more. Every number has a source. All credits.

What even is roughly?

Free daily guessing games. Where is this place, how big is this animal, how likely is this, how many, when, how expensive? Nobody knows the exact answer. You only have to be roughly right.

Estimation, not trivia. Nobody knows exactly where koalas live or what a gallon of gas cost in 2022. But you can reason your way close: start from something you know and adjust. That reasoning is the game.

Close counts. There is no right or wrong. You see how far off you were, in kilometres on the map or as a factor like 1.4× too low, and the next guess gets better.

Two minutes a day. No sign-up, no download. Open a game in your browser, play today’s rounds, come back tomorrow.

Not sure where to start? Begin with Where?, our most played game. Drop a pin where you think an animal lives, then see its real range and where everyone else put theirs.

The map shows a real round of Where? with real guesses from our players.
